Modifications to My Pop UP

Storage-Ammo Boxes

I have mounted 3 surplus Ammo Boxes on my camper to store "outside" equipment used in setting up the camper, this an easy modification and cost about $38.00 to complete

This is a picture from the front of the camper showing 2 other mods, the bal leveler mount and the drill adapter to level the tongue jack.  Notice the large black box in the center, this is a Ammo Box mounted in the place the battery box mounts.  I use 4 batteries mounted under the seats for power so I don't need the outside battery.  I use gel cell batteries so they do not have to be vented.  I store the AC power cable, propane hoses, tent stakes, lug wrench and other outside "tools"  Completely water/air tight storage. Don't remember the Caliber of Ammo this box holds but its large.  I gave $18 for this box at an Army Surplus Store.

Notice the bottom of the box is setting in the mount for the battery box.  Had to grind off the angle going down the side of the box to clear the mount

Another shot of the front ammo box

I used 1/4 20 bolts in bottom of box with lock washers on nuts under the battery holder.

2 Smaller ammo boxes mounted on the rear bumper, provides       additional storage of outdoor equipment.  These are 5.56mm Ammo boxes.  I gave $9.95 each for these boxes.

I used 1/4 20 Bolts with large fender washer inside of the box to keep it from flexing on the bumper.

Notice the Tennessee License, its a "semi" license and good for a life. Tennessee doesn't require license on small trailers but if towing in other state you may get stopped for no license, so a lot of people gets the lifetime license to help this.

Contents of second box on rear bumper, cordless drill, battery and 3/8 ratchet socket handle tool for the Bal Leveler, tool is also backup in case of drill problems.  Also keep spare spark plug and plug wrench for generator in box.

Notice the large fender washer on the bolts holding the box to the bumper.
