Modifications to My Pop UP

Cargo Carrier

After getting quoted over $300 for a cargo carrier on my pop-up I started shopping.  Found a lot of steel black rear hitch carriers but they were too heavy.  At Harbor Freight I found this one on sale for $59.00

The carrier is all aluminum, light weight.  I does come with a steel square 2" tube to go into the receiver hitch if using on hitch, this comes off for use on the roof of the camper.

It came with a 2" receiver hitch thingy on the bottom which I removed and mounted under the back bumper of my camper, use it to connect my bike and canoe carriers...

The 3 containers hold all the outdoor cooking stuff, including can goods, pot and pans ect...easy to sit on table before raising the roof.  The roof has a 300lbs limit when down, the air is about 110 lbs so that leave about 190lbs we can haul, I think in terms of about 150lb limit to be safe.

Details of mounting screws in camper top, the holes were filled with silicone sealer and are into the same wood that the awning bolts into.

I got 2  4' sections of aluminum angle and made the mounts for the carrier as shown.  These came from Lowes.  I'm not sure I could camp if Lowes Closes down.

The "bonus" receiver hitch I got when I removed the hitch adapter from under the cargo carrier, works great with bike and canoe carrier.
